The brick sidewalk distinguishes Broadway Street and the Market House District in downtown Paducah, which stretches in front of the Paducah Harbor Plaza Bed & Breakfast. Located just one block from the Ohio River. this striking five-story building has been identified by turn of the century advertisements as the Hotel Belvedere, a frequent stopover for those traveling by river or rail.

Today, after extensive renovation, visitors are once-again invited to experience the charm and hospitality of downtown Paducah and this grand old Bed & Breakfast listed on the National Register of Historical Buildings.

Four guest rooms are located on the second floor, each with its own personality and comfortably furnished with early 20th century antique furniture and warm, handmade quilts. The rooms are centrally heated and air conditioned, and have a TV, VCR, and private refrigerator. All feature high ceilings, ceiling fans, and tongue-and-groove floors. A modern kitchen stocked with snacks, fruit, milk, and various soft drinks and juices is accessible to all guests. A generous continental-plus breakfast is served between 7 and 9 am.

The 'Broadway Room' ($135/night plus tax) features wall paneling made from doors salvaged from the original hotel, as well as beautiful arched windows offering a panoramic view of the Market House District and Ohio River. The 'Hunt Room' ($115/night plus tax), with it's own fireplace, is decorated in an equestrian theme. The 'Harvest Moon' room ($165/night plus tax) is complimented with it's own private bath, complete with two-headed shower and jacuzzi bathtub. And finally, the 'Lighthouse Room', our most affordable ($100/night plus tax), features a full size canopy bed and a nautical theme.

For that extra special get-away, a loft apartment, occupying the entire fourth floor of the building, is also available for $200/night. It includes a bedroom with king-size bed, bath with shower and whirlpool, a complete kitchen, and spacious living area with a very special central fireplace that opens to both the kitchen and living room. Thirteen windows provide a panoramic view of downtown Paducah and the Ohio River. For small parties (up to 30 people), a roof-top garden providing a spectacular view can be rented for $500.

The Paducah Harbor Plaza is open year round and is available for weddings, business meetings, family reunions, retreats, teas, showers, holiday parties, and a variety of special occasions. Weekend packages are also available.

Across from PHP is the old Market House. Today, the Market House is the home of the Market House Museum, Yeiser Art Center, and the Market House Theatre. Within walking distance you will find the Museum of the American Quilter's Society, featuring exhibits of modern and antique quilts. Historic downtown Paducah also offers many antique shops, fine restaurants and cultural events. Your host will provide you with maps and a calendar of events during your stay.
